Stefan Lampert, born in 1965, founded XTRA Translation Services in 1993. He holds 75% of the company’s shares.
His vision of combining translations and technology to provide specialized solutions for the Information Technology industry matured between 1991 and 1993. Before, he studied Applied Linguistics at the University of Mainz in Germersheim, Germany, and graduated with a Diploma in 1989. Between 1989 and 1991 he held various positions at Star Deutschland GmbH, a provider of translation services and tools. Between 1992 and 1993 he set up and managed a subsidiary of BOTS, a Munich-based translation company.
Among his recognized strengths is his understanding of the client perspective and his ability to propose solutions that provide clients with a competitive edge.
His tasks at XTRA include:
- consult with new and existing clients to aid in developing solutions tailored to their specific needs
- determine competencies and build partnerships to increase future value for clients
- assist staff in developing personal skills and in applying XTRA’s working methodology

Sylvia Gogol, born in 1964, has occupied various functions at XTRA since its foundation in 1993. She holds 25% of the company’s shares.
After completing an apprenticeship in 1987 she held various jobs in the service industry. From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a DTP and graphics professional. After joining XTRA in 1993 her tasks included DTP, quality assurance, and accounting.
Today she is responsible for the Finance and Accounting divisions. |
